Sleep spa quilt

Sleep spa quilt

The bargello quilt (above) is a project I started in 2015. Both sides are similar. A flip side of standard squares is used. Both sides are sandwiched between batting; it’s ready to begin the creative quilting process but I’m procrastinating. Time is holding me up, family members too and now there is a space limitation.

This is my first quilt. The strata consists of strips of Batic fabric (a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth). Two of these strips are simple cotton blends. Ten to twelve strips are joined together and then cut lengthwise. Looks complicated but it’s really not so bad. The design for a bargello can get very interesting, 3D illusions are amazing.
